Barajas Airport Taxi

Book a Taxi to and from Barajas

Barajas Madrid taxisFor those wishing to be welcomed directly in the arrivals area of the airport and not having to wait even a minute from their arrival in Madrid, the ideal solution is a taxi service from Barajas Airport. The same happens on the return, in fact, a driver will pick you up at your accommodation in order to carry you directly to the entrance doors of your departure terminal. Avoiding unnecessary searches in airports that you do not know.

Madrid is the largest and most important city in Spain, besides the capital. It has about 3 million inhabitants, but its metropolitan area has at least 6.5 people. Madrid has 21 districts, divided into different neighborhoods (barrios). As capital, it is also the seat of the government and residence of the Bourbon royal family. Although it is undoubtedly a modern metropolis, in some areas Madrid retains its original appearance.

Distances between Barajas Airport and some points of interest

Those arriving in Madrid are spoiled for choice about the places to visit. Below are suggestions of the most important attractions and related distances and travel times from the airport.

  • Plaza Mayor: situated in the heart of the city, it takes less than half an hour to reach it via the M-40 road.
  • Reina Sofia Museum: hosts collections of modern and contemporary art; it is about 18 km from the airport and it  takes 25 minutes to get there.
  • Santiago Bernabeu Stadium: one of the biggest temples of world football, it can be reached in a quarter of an hour by taking the M-11 road.

But Madrid is much more: you can have breakfast in one of the many "historic" bars, rather than spend an evening in a club where you can dance flamenco.

Barajas Airport

Madrid airport is called Adolfo Suarez, but it is better known as Barajas. It is about 12 km from the city centre and is located in the north-eastern part of the capital. The passenger traffic of this airport is around 49 million people, who pass through its four terminals each year. It is currently the largest Spanish airport and the European airport with the highest number of connections with Latin American countries.

The Madrid airport is so large that there are connections between the various terminals; specifically, to go from terminal 1 to 2 and vice versa, you can use a free bus that is active day and night.

How to get from Barajas to the city centre

Madrid-Barajas Airport is very well connected to the city by various means, such as public taxis, which have 4 stations, but they have to face a very high demand from people needing them to reach the capital.

Even city buses perfectly link the capital to its airport, precisely with the Exprés Line, Line 101 and Line 200. There is also the metro network, the fastest public transport, which connects Terminal 2 to the centre via the pink line No. 8. However, neither the metro, nor the buses  carry people directly to their accommodation in which you chose to stay. In fact, when choosing a means of public transport, it will be essential in most cases, to make stops or even change means.
